Lane Harris is an American-Irish artist practicing in Dublin, IE. Primarily a portrait artist, Lane’s work is driven by her curiosity and love of people. She uses oils to capture the story of a person or place, often including distinctive details in her pieces. 

Capturing a subject, painting - in this case,  is an opportunity for study - a way to explore and figure out the subject, as well as solving all the little problems that arise in the painting itself.

Plein air for Lane is a way to commune with the nature around her, to capture the beauty of a moment and exist in it for a time. Lane’s work, even her landscapes, often include hints of humanity and the way we’ve shaped the natural world. For both portraiture and plein air, it is a way to simply be here.

In the past year, Lane has significantly expanded her practice. Pieces from the last year will be available in her upcoming duet exhibition, Us, Nature at Red’s Gallery in Dublin, opening December 4th, 2025.
